How quality is built into each and every part of our cabinets

The story begins with....
Premium A-grade plywoods and hardwoods in over fourteen varieties. We purchase all hardwoods in a rough state, and mill them in our own factory using modern machinery for complete control of the finished product. This machinery has digital controls resulting in every board having dimensional accuracy to within one thousandth of an inch!

And...
Each piece of wood is hand selected for best match of color and grain. Face frame component lengths and widths are adjusted based on cabinet placement, to give a uniform spacing between doors and drawers (cabinets that butt up against another cabinet have thinner vertical pieces than cabinets adjoining an appliance or a wall). All cabinet doors and drawers are manufactured in our own factory using the same premium materials and selection techniques as used for our cabinet face frames. Every part of these key, visible components are customizable including stile and rail widths, arch profiles, and inside, outside, front, and back edge profiles.

Continuing....
Cabinet cases are built using oversized components – the thickest in the industry – full 3/4 inch thick sides, tops, bottoms, and backs! – our competitors call this overbuilding and frequently use 1/2” sides and bottoms with partial or even no tops, and 1/4” backs on their cabinets. Amazingly, when the end of a cabinet is exposed, we add the finished furniture grade plywood to the inside plywood, resulting in 1˝ inch thick plywood on each finished side!!! After cutting to size, our very robust parts are joined together with dowels and glue and screws – more overbuilding. A dedicated pneumatic clamp for each of drawers, doors, and cases is used to ensure repeatable pressure, and completely square joints.

And more....
Quality hardware features abound such as special spacer balls to keep raised panels centered, and leg levelers to raise cabinets off the floor for longevity and access to utilities, and to achieve a level installation even in less than perfect floor situations. Premium hardware for door hinging and drawer glides from Austrian manufacturers Blum and Grass is used exclusively. As an example, all door hinges have three axis of adjustment contained within the hinge, and never require loosening of the connecting screws for door adjustments.

And even more....
Drawers are constructed from solid maple with dovetails on all four corners. Exposed cabinet ends are hand milled for furniture grade flushness. Cabinets come in completely customizable sizes for width, height, and depth to the nearest 1/8”!  We always include with your cabinets custom milled, stained, and finished moldings and trim for a perfect cabinet match.

Some final words about how we finish every cabinet we make...
The finishing is a twelve step process that includes three machine and three hand sanding steps. Drying occurs in a four-season temperature controlled, state-of-the-art finishing room. Custom staining (included with every order) is performed utilizing non-fading primary color dyes. These advanced materials allow the widest range of colors to be achieved, and at the same time they are able to highlight the beautiful wood grains rather than obscuring them. For sealer and final coats (three in all) we use Sherwin-Williams catalyzed conversion varnish finishes - the best top coat they offer - and widely recognized as far superior to standard lacquers.

What we don’t do is....
Mar the furniture grade front face by using staples or nails. These faces are assembled using pocket hole joinery, and attached to the case from behind using pocket holes and glue. Similarly, glass panels are held in place with stained and finished and mitered moldings – never with clips or plastic retainers. Also, we never use fillers to fill spaces between “stock cabinet” sizes. In fact, we have no stock sizes, every cabinet we construct is uniquely sized based on space available, function, and aesthetics.

In summary we are very proud to offer ultra quality cabinets that:

Meets or exceeds all of the Architectural Woodworking Institute's premium standards
(their highest level) for cabinets including materials and case, door, and drawer assembly, and finishes.

We are able to do all this and still offer value-based prices by:
